

The president’s helicopter, carrying President and Mrs. Bush to the Calvary United Methodist Church in Mount Airy, Maryland, for a faith-based roundtable discussion about the global response to HIV/AIDS, flies above over 3200 American flags placed on the National Mall, Friday, November 30, 2007, the fourteenth anniversary of the signing of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy. The flags were placed to honor the 12,000 homosexual men and women dismissed from the U.S. military under the policy.

The tribute is hosted by the Human Rights Campaign, Servicemembers United, Log Cabin Republicans, Liberty Education Forum, and Servicemembers Legal Defense Network.
