Homeless USA Cup Soccer at the New Kastles Stadium

The Homeless USA Cup brought street soccer players from across the country to Washington, D.C.’s new Kastles Stadium this weekend. The team from Minneapolis won the championship game, Sunday June 29, 2008. At top right, one player from New York City is overjoyed to learn he has been picked to join the the US team that will travel to the Homeless World Cup in Melbourne, Australia.

Kastles Stadium is the newly created stadium at 11th & H, NW, for the World TeamTennis Pro League Washington Kastles, featuring Serena Williams and Justin Gimelstob, who will have their home opener at the stadium on July 8.


Ships and Dip III Sails Away

One Man’s Pride

Guyton can be seen yelling at the anti-gay protesters’ bullhorn the night before in the the WaPhoJo video “Anti-Gay Bullhorn Protest Met With Crowd Ridicule,” which was published last week. Asked about that moment, he recalled he was arguing to the protesters that they were misinterpreting a “glorious book … of love.”
