Washington, D.C., Mayor Adrian Fenty poses with a crew of high-heeled racers prior to the 22nd annual High Heel Race Tuesday, October 28, 2008. Fenty walked along 17th Street, NW and greeted the crowd encouraging spectators to vote for Barack Obama for President.

Ghost Bike in Dupont for Alice Swanson

Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA) placed a ghost bike near 20th & R NW, in Washington, DC, where 22-year-old Alice Swanson was fatally struck by a garbage truck while riding her bike, Tuesday, July 8, 2008. The bike, which was put up the day of the collision, is covered with flowers in this July 13 photo by M. V. Jantzen.

Disobedient Maybe, but Damn Adorable

The 12th Annual “Pride of Pets” fun dog show was held by PETS DC on the west side of Dupont Circle this afternoon, June 18, 2005. PETS DC, a “non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with HIV/AIDS and their companion animals” that hosted the event, was kind enough to ask me to be the official photographer. Enjoy the puppy pics!

What happens when you try to get all of the “Least Obedient” dogs on the stage at one time? You guessed it: puppy pandemonium.

This bright-eyed husky won “Most Glamorous Large Dog.”

Glamorous!

No, it’s not “Take your dog to work day.” This business-casual canine won “Most Original Costume.”
