Lesbian & Gay Chorus of Washington, D.C.

C. Paul Heins, the music director for Lesbian & Gay Chorus of Washington, D.C. (LGCW) since April 2003, directs the chorus in rehearsal prior to their concert last Saturday, January 24, 2009, at Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church. LGCW, a charter member of the GLBT Arts Consortium, celebrated their 25th Anniversary with a performance of the commissioned piece “Under the Greenwood Tree,” by Robert Convery.

LGCW, whose ties to the DC gay community go back to when they held a few rehearsals at long-gone drag bar “Rogue” according to member Jill Strachan, will hold an open house for prospective members at the Parish of St. Monica & St. James, on Tuesday, February 10, at 6:30-8 p.m.

Fenty Supports Obama at High Heel Race

Washington, D.C., Mayor Adrian Fenty poses with a crew of high-heeled racers prior to the 22nd annual High Heel Race Tuesday, October 28, 2008. Fenty walked along 17th Street, NW and greeted the crowd encouraging spectators to vote for Barack Obama for President.
